Preparing for difficult conversations in the workplace

rss Subscribe via RSS

As an expert in communication and conflict resolution and having facilitated hundreds of conflict resolution processes, I have seen the shifts that occur when people can shift their mindset and how they are framing the conversation. This really helps people ensure that their message lands the way it was intended.

In this video, I share a few more tips to turn difficult conversations into a courageous dialogue. Altering just a few things in the approach can have a big impact on the outcome.

You will hear me talk about:

Preparation
How to set the conversation up for success
Why clarifying (or removing) assumptions will help the conversation stay on track
You can take a listen to the short video, here.

"Charmaine has provided timely and effective conflict management training to managers at various levels in our organization. These are essentials skill for modern leaders. She is able to customize her presentations to suit specific needs and any size of group. In addition she provides concise support material and follow-up as needed. I highly recommend her services." Tony Hamori, Chief Superintendent, District Commander, Southern Alberta RCMP

"The Canadian Payroll Association hired Charmaine to be a keynote speaker and to present a breakout session at our Spring Payroll Summit held on March 2018 in Richmond, B.C. She was such a hit as a keynote speaker, people not originally registered for her breakout session decided last minute to attend because they just couldn't get enough of Charmaine! She went over so well at the event I decided to hire her to be our keynote speaker at our roadshow of National Payroll Week events in September 2018 and was very well received at those too. From a planner perspective, I LOVED working with Charmaine! So easy going, professional, and timely with her communications. An event planner's dream come true :) Kristina Bruce, Canadian Payroll Association

"Charmaine was recommended to me as a speaker for SOHO Victoria by a previous speaker. After watching some of her previous talk videos I was impressed enough to add Charmaine to the agenda. What an awesome decision that turned out to be. Not only did Charmaine deliver an outstanding talk filled with unique and actionable insights, she and her team went above and beyond in their support of the event via their social media and other channels. If you are looking for an inspiring, engaging and knowledgeable speaker for your next event I would highly recommend Charmaine." Chris Burdge, Social Media Camp
