Life Lessons from in the Blueberry Patch: Nature’s

1.  The largest, most luscious berries aren't readily discovered at first glance.

SLOW DOWN, BE PRESENT – YOU’LL BE AMAZED AT THE BEAUTY AND ABUNDANCE YOU’VE OVERLOOKED BECAUSE YOU ARE RUSHING!

2.  The best berries are found beside small bushes and moss where they receive shade, moisture and extra nourishment. They flourish with help from their "friends" in the forest.

CULTIVATE GENUINE, POSITIVE FRIENDS WHO WILL HELP YOU ALONG LIFE’S WAY.

3.  The blueberry patch provides a quiet sanctuary away from noise, distraction and everyday surroundings. The vastness and beauty of the forest heals the soul.

CREATE A PHYSICAL AND MENTAL SPACE FOR CONTEMPLATION EVERY DAY.

4.  Not all the berries ripen at the same time.

THERE IS OPPORTUNITY AND ABUNDANCE FOR US ALL!

5.  When the berry is ready to be picked - it falls into your hands effortlessly – tasting sweet and warm.

WHEN IT FEELS RIGHT – IT’S RIGHT. ALWAYS TRUST YOUR GUT.

6.  All of your work and effort is rewarded ten fold by the smiles, love, appreciation of your family and friends.

GIVING IS OUR GREATEST SOURCE OF JOY!

What and where is the blueberry patch in your life?  Where is your sanctuary?

A Word from the Writer:

Each summer I venture to my little piece of heaven:  a log cabin located east of Thunder Bay, Ontario, called Pearl. In its heyday, Pearl was a haven for those who loved to fish and hunt and it also served as a water fueling station for the steam engines.  Water for the engines was accessed through a pipeline.

The Pearl train station and steam engines have long since disappeared, but the trail created by the pipeline remains. Thank goodness for the pipeline as it provides access to my blueberry patch.  My children, my sisters and their families always want to visit the blueberry patch during their visits to

Pearl.  The simple pleasures are often the most treasured and are held nearest and dearest to our heart.
